Stripe does not know you have subscribers. SSA finds them.

WooCommerce Subscriptions on the standard Stripe gateway does not create Stripe subscriptions. Stripe sees a series of ordinary charges. SSA detects the pattern and rebuilds your recurring revenue from it.

What WooCommerce Subscriptions shows you today

Subscription counts and renewal orders in WooCommerce. No MRR that survives annual plans, no churn by month, no cohort retention.

How SSA reads it

Each renewal is an ordinary Stripe charge with no subscription behind it. SSA looks at every customer's charges, finds repeating amounts at a regular interval, and records a detected subscription with its own badge, so you always know which numbers came from a real Stripe subscription and which were found.

One honest limit: a brand-new subscriber is detected after their third charge, because two payments are not yet a pattern. A direct WooCommerce Subscriptions connector, which reads the subscriptions themselves and removes that delay, is under development in SSA Pro, releasing soon.

Does SSA read WooCommerce?

The free plugin reads Stripe. The WooCommerce Subscriptions connector, under development in SSA Pro, reads WooCommerce directly.

What if a customer changes plan?

A new amount starts a new detected subscription and the old one ends. Because the pattern is rebuilt from charges, MRR movement books that as a cancellation and a new subscription rather than an upgrade.

Refunds?

A refunded charge does not count toward revenue and does not break the detected pattern.
