Stripe does not know you have subscribers. SadAnalytics finds them.

WooCommerce Subscriptions on the standard Stripe gateway does not create Stripe subscriptions. Stripe sees a series of ordinary charges. SadAnalytics detects the pattern and rebuilds your recurring revenue from it.

What WooCommerce Subscriptions shows you today

Subscription counts, renewal orders, and WooCommerce's older Reports screen, which shows sign-ups, cancellations, churn over time, subscription lifespan and upcoming recurring revenue. No MRR, no MRR movement, and no retention by sign-up cohort.

How SadAnalytics reads it

Each renewal is an ordinary Stripe charge with no subscription behind it. SadAnalytics looks at every customer's charges, finds repeating amounts at a regular interval, and records a detected subscription with its own badge, so you always know which numbers came from a real Stripe subscription and which were found.

One honest limit: a brand-new subscriber is detected after their third charge, because two payments are not yet a pattern.

What you get

A detected subscription in the customer drawer: its Active and Detected badges, the amount and interval SadAnalytics found, its start date, and buttons to confirm it as a subscription or mark it as one-time.
Recurring revenue SadAnalytics found in plain charges.
The monthly recurring revenue card: the headline figure, the number of subscriptions behind it, the change against last month, and a sparkline.
Your real MRR, with annual plans spread monthly and detected subscriptions counted.
The cohort retention heatmap: each monthly group of new members and the share still paying at one, three, six and twelve months.
Each signup month, followed for a year.

Three steps

    Install the plugin

    It is in review at WordPress.org. Once it is listed, go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, search for Sad Subscription Analytics, then Install Now and Activate.

    Paste a read-only Stripe key

    Read access to customers, subscriptions, charges, invoices and prices. Add products too if you want plan names.

    Run the first sync

    It runs in the background, and your dashboard fills in as it goes.

WooCommerce Subscriptions questions

Does SadAnalytics read WooCommerce?

No. The free plugin reads Stripe. A WooCommerce Subscriptions connector is coming soon to SadAnalytics Pro, and it will read WooCommerce directly.

What if a customer changes plan?

The new amount becomes its own detected subscription once it has three charges, and the old one ends when its next charge does not arrive. Because the pattern is rebuilt from charges, MRR movement books the old amount as churn and the new one as a new subscription (or a reactivation, if the old one had already lapsed), not as an upgrade.

Refunds?

Revenue is counted net of refunds. A refunded renewal stays in the pattern, so it does not split a detected subscription in two.
