Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This page covers sadanalytics.com and the two plugins I make: Sad Subscription Analytics (the free plugin) and the SadAnalytics Pro add-on, which is coming soon. I’m Sadik Bhimani, and I build and run SadAnalytics myself. If anything here doesn’t make sense, email me at [email protected] and I’ll explain it.
The short version
- Your billing and customer data stays on your own site. SadAnalytics reads it from Stripe and keeps it in your WordPress database. I never see it.
- This website has no analytics, no ad trackers and no tracking cookies.
- When SadAnalytics Pro goes on sale, Freemius will take the payment and look after your license.
- Error reports and the Freemius opt-in in the plugin are off until you say yes.
This website
sadanalytics.com doesn’t run Google Analytics or any other tracking script, and it doesn’t load fonts or scripts from other companies. It doesn’t set cookies when you read it.
The site sits behind Cloudflare, which protects it and serves it quickly. To do that, Cloudflare sees your IP address and basic details of each request, such as the page and your browser. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Like any web server, mine keeps access logs: your IP address, the time, the page you asked for and your browser. I only use them to keep the site secure and to fix problems.
When you email me
If you email [email protected], I get your email address and whatever you write. I use it to answer you and keep the conversation so I have the history if you write again. I don’t add you to a mailing list because you emailed me.
If you post on the plugin’s support forum on WordPress.org, that forum is run by WordPress.org under their privacy policy.
The free plugin
Sad Subscription Analytics runs on your WordPress site. It reads your customers, subscriptions, payments, invoices, products and prices from Stripe with the key you enter, then calculates and stores everything in your own database. None of that is sent to me. For the data about your own customers, you’re in charge of it, and SadAnalytics is a tool you run.
The plugin only talks to these outside services:
- Stripe. To read your data, with your key, when you connect or test the key and on every sync. It only reads. Stripe’s privacy policy.
- freecurrencyapi.com. Only if your site bills in more than one currency and you save a freecurrencyapi.com key in Settings. SadAnalytics sends that key and your main currency code and gets exchange rates back: when you save the key, and after a sync once the stored rates are a day old. If a request fails, it waits an hour before trying again, or a day if the key was rejected. Their privacy policy.
- Sentry, for error reports. Off by default. If you switch on error reporting (Settings, Diagnostics), SadAnalytics sends me a report when something goes wrong inside the plugin: the error message, where in the plugin it happened, what it was doing, and the plugin and PHP versions. Before it’s sent, SadAnalytics removes email addresses, Stripe keys, your Stripe account ID and your server’s WordPress and plugin folder paths, and blanks any field named for personal details or secrets. A report can still include an ID from your payment provider. I use these reports only to find and fix bugs. Sentry’s privacy policy.
- Freemius, for the opt-in. When you activate the plugin it asks if you want to opt in. Nothing is sent unless you click Allow & Continue. If you do, Freemius gets your site’s address and title, WordPress and PHP versions, language, SadAnalytics’ version and whether it’s active, your WordPress user’s name and email, and the list of your plugins and themes unless you untick that. I use it to understand which setups SadAnalytics runs on and to email you about updates and the odd offer. You can skip it and SadAnalytics works exactly the same. You can stop sharing any time with the Opt Out link under Sad Subscription Analytics on the Plugins page. Freemius’s privacy policy.
Requests to freecurrencyapi.com, Sentry and Freemius also carry your site’s web address, because WordPress and the Freemius code add it by default.
Buying SadAnalytics Pro
SadAnalytics Pro isn’t on sale yet. When it is, it will be sold through Freemius. Freemius will be the seller of record: it runs the checkout, takes the payment, handles tax and invoices, and issues your license. Your card details go to Freemius and its payment processors, never to me. Freemius shares with me what I need to support you: your name, email, country, what you bought, and your license and subscription status.
When you activate SadAnalytics Pro on a site, the site connects to Freemius to check the license and to get updates. Activating sends the site details listed for the opt-in above, plus your license key. The one difference: sharing the list of your plugins and themes is optional there and starts unticked.
Your SadAnalytics data still stays on your site. SadAnalytics Pro adds features, not a cloud service.
How long I keep things
- Support emails: as long as they’re useful for helping you, then I delete them. Ask and I’ll delete them sooner.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting rules require. Freemius keeps its own records under its policy.
- Error reports: until the bug is fixed and the report is no longer useful, and never longer than Sentry keeps them.
- Opt-in data: until you opt out or disconnect your site.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [email protected] and I’ll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. If you bought through Freemius, some of it sits with them, and I’ll pass your request on or point you to the right place.
Inside the plugin you’re in control: leave error reporting off, skip the opt-in, or opt out later. SadAnalytics also adds its data to WordPress’s own Export and Erase Personal Data tools, so you can answer your customers’ requests too.
Children
SadAnalytics is a business tool. It isn’t meant for children and I don’t knowingly collect anything about them.
Changes
If I change how SadAnalytics or this site handles data, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
