Baremetrics, or a free plugin inside WordPress?
If you run a membership site on WordPress and bill through Stripe, you may not need a separate metrics service at all.
What Baremetrics is good at
Baremetrics is a mature, hosted subscription-metrics product built for SaaS companies. It reads Stripe and other billing systems, forecasts, segments, and shows its dashboards in its own app with team logins.
Where it does not fit a WordPress membership site
It lives outside WordPress, so nobody on your site sees the numbers without another login. It does not know which WordPress user a Stripe customer is. Revenue that never touched Stripe does not arrive on its own: Baremetrics says it "won't automatically capture" ACH transfers, wire payments or manual invoicing, so those go in by hand, by CSV or through its API. And it is priced for SaaS companies.

What SSA does instead
SSA is a WordPress plugin. The free core reads Stripe with a read-only key and shows MRR, churn, lifetime value, cohort retention and the reports that go with them inside wp-admin, with each customer matched to their WordPress user by email. SSA Pro adds the revenue Stripe never saw, Upcoming Payments (See your cash flow), and CSV export.

Is SSA a full replacement for Baremetrics?
For a WordPress membership site on Stripe, the core numbers are there: MRR, churn, LTV, retention, movement, cohorts. Forecasting, segments and a hosted team app are not what SSA does.
Can I run both?
Yes. Both read Stripe with their own keys and neither changes anything there.
